Expertise and Experience

John M. Young CEO is an Engineer and Optician. He has been active in many disciplines of the optical industry including engineering, research and development, and quality. He has five patents for the design of optical lenses and devices, has been lecturing for several decades, and has authored more than 100 published articles and papers. He received the 1992 Man of the Year Award from the National Academy of Opticianry and the first President's Award from the Opticians Association of America in 1994 for his dedication to the advancement of education. In 2005 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Optometric Association's, Association of Schools and Colleges. John founded COLTS Laboratories in 1997

Kimberly Hutton President has over 20 years in the ophthalmic industry.  She has a degree in accounting and she has been employed at COLTS Laboratories for 14 years.  She has held various positions in accounting, human resources, advertising, customer service and business planning. 

Daryl Neely Vice President and COO is a Quality Engineer with over 15 years experience in the optical industry. His experience includes working in the quality engineering discipline, as well as responsibility for supervision of a test lab for a large lens manufacturer. He has extensive experience in statistical analysis of data, especially as related to the optical industry.  Furthermore, he is knowledgeable in the areas of quality systems, continuous improvement, auditing, standard operating procedure development and statistical process control techniques.

Dale Payne Technical Services Manager (Safety) has 25 years experience in the optical industry. He has extensive experience in wholesale laboratories including management. For the past 11 years he has worked at COLTS Laboratories building testing equipment, training technicians and conducting educational classes for customers. He has been involved with developing procedures and reports in accordance with industry standards. In his current position he is available for all client questions, helping clients with submission and clarification on all safety eyewear testing

Greg Williams Technical Service Manager (Ophthalmic) is an ABO Certified Optician with 30 years experience in the optical industry. He has worked in corporate and private practices in dispensing as well as wholesale laboratories. He is familiar with testing and processing both for frames, lenses, and safety protective equipment. Greg is also responsible for customer service at COLTS Laboratories.
